One in six people are hungry in the United States, while 40% of our food is wasted*.
Athens Food Rescue was formed to help eliminate this problem.

We are an all-volunteer group that aims to bridge a gap in our food system by increasing food waste diversion.  We do this by collecting leftover food from donors and immediately transporting it to our associated non-profit organizations. Your organization can be part of the solution by donating your surplus food to Athens Food Rescue.

Food recovery practices are embraced by:

Our volunteers are either ServSafe certified or trained in food handler safety and are willing to work with your staff to make donating as easy as possible. We would love the opportunity to join together to make a difference in this growing problem in America.
